She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Lee Higgs and Martha Ellen Higgs (Johnson); her siblings, Nola Mae Higgs, Ernest Higgs (Judy) and Bill Higgs; and her brother-in-law Ray Elmore.
She is survived by: her husband George Smith; her daughters, Dana Phelps and Jamie Newland; her sister Jeanette Elmore; her grandchildren, Rodney Parker (Ashley), Brian Parker (Jay), Summer Sibalich (Zack) and Victoria Newland; and her great grandchildren, Emerson, Xena, Zayda, Maddie, Ensley, Erik, Chloe and Ali.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel (820 Lovers Ln, Bowling Green, KY 42103). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
