She was predeceased by: her husband Virgil Deaton; her parents, Jesse Herald and Julie Turner Herald; and her sister Polly Raleigh. She is survived by: her children, Virgil Deaton Jr. (Cathy), Johnny Deaton (Margaret), Jesse James Deaton (Mary), Carl Deaton (Christie), Lillie Richardson, Julia Deaton, Georgia Collins (James), America Richardson (Doug), Nancy Neace (Wayne), Martha Sue Strong (Ronald) and Ruth Ann Irving (Don); and her brother Johnny Herald. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren; host of nephews and nieces.
