He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Tharp; his parents, Lester Tharp and Mamie Tharp; and his sisters, Virginia Romain and Faye McElhone.
He is survived by: his children, Brent Tharp and Laura Tharp; his siblings, Rev. George Tharp, James Tharp, Tom Tharp and Rachel Graham; and his grandchildren, Jacqui Skinner, Chris Tharp, Josh Stroup, Nikki Martin and Corrie Stroup. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
