He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Laferty and Zelda Samons Laferty; his wife Garnett Faye Webb Laferty; his son-in-law Jerome Scott "Butch" Clifton; his siblings, Donald R. Laferty, Maxine Thacker and Valerie Hall; and his granddaughter Alisa Marie Laferty.
He is survived by: his children, Freda Kaye Cornett (Michael) of Clearfield, KY and Larry Dean Laferty (Tammy) of Prestonsburg, KY; his siblings, Sarah Glennis Lowe (Phil) of Palm Coast, FL and Herman Keith Laferty of Cub Run, KY; his grandchildren, Lisa Kaye Clifton (Dennis Teel) of Winter Haven, FL, Angela Marie Christensen (Scott) of Lexington, KY and Michael DuWayne Cornett II (Melissa) of Somerset, KY; and his great grandchildren, Matthew Teel, Jacob Clifton Hedges, Ryan Scott Christensen, Brinley Marie Christensen and Avery Elisabeth Cornett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
