He is survived by: his wife Karla Hurst (Simmons); his children, Kecia Cross, Michelle Hurst (Mo Nelson) and Michael Hurst; and his grandchildren, Brandon Wrin, Brett Wrin (Logan), Phillip Luna, Trey Luna, Kailyn Russell (Jordan), Kenleigh Cross and Kerrigan Cross. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
