He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvis V. Piercey and Marguerite Piercey (McWhorter); and his wife Wanda Jean Piercey (Staton). He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Amonett, Naomi Faye Dalton (Eddie), Vickie May of Lexington, KY, Rodney "Buz" Piercey (Kasia) of Florida, Terry Piercey and Johnny Piercey. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
