He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman H. Melton and Georgia Mae Bowen Melton; and his siblings, Doris Stearns, Jean Brown, Janice Hacker, Ronnie Melton, William Melton and Tommy Melton.
He is survived by: his daughters, Andrea Gibson (Chuck) and Candi Pereira (Felipe); his siblings, Sue Irwin and Howard Melton; and his grandchildren, Aleigha Thacker, Amber Thacker, Urijah Pereira, Silas Pereira, Taylor Gibson, Karlee Gibson and Abigail Soma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
