James Leroy Sampson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Leroy Sampson (Albany, Kentucky), who passed away on December 23, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Solomon Sampson (Ted) and Zenia Marie Sampson (Shane); his wife Doris; his sons, James M. and Jeff A. Sampson; his daughter-in-law Joyce Elaine Sampson (Thomas); his great grandchild Grace Ann Martin; his brother Robert Sampson (Bobby); and his brothers-in-law, Sam Todd, James Muir and Chester Pearce (Chet).
He is survived by: his children, Tim, Randy (Danita), Tony (Valerie) and Julie Sell (Tony); his daughter-in-law Terry Sampson; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Tackett (Jason), Tyler Martin (Elizabeth), Erika Sampson, Krista Sampson, Jalen Soma (Dipesh), Chelsea Conner (Steven), Cydney Sampson (John Crouch) and Jazzton Sell (London). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in Jim's name to: Upward Church PO Box 729 Byrdstown, TN 38546, as their mission was important to him.
