He was predeceased by: his son Ronnie Smalling; his great grandchildren, Dillion Smalling and Noah Carter; and his siblings, Curt Smalling, Roger Smalling, Evelyn Smalling and Ethel Goad.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Glendle Smalling of Adolphus, KY, Lannie Smalling (Myra) of Adolphus, KY, Bruce Smalling (Teresa) and Diannie Ray (Gary); and his close friend Myra Chandler of Scottsville, KY. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
