He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Adair Slater, Sr. and Joyce L. Slater (Hoag). He is survived by: his children, Stacy Rich (Steve) of Manhattan, KS, Brandy Slater (Cody Robbins) and Scotty Slater (Amy); his grandchildren, Tyler Slater, Britten Epperson, Tevin, Charlie, Colson Robbins, Hudson and Quinn Slater; and his siblings, Phyllis King (Bill) of Wann, OK, Steve Slater (Sharon) and Mark Slater (Charlotte) of Humboldt, KS. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
