He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melvin and Margaret Atkin (Shaffer); his sister Kay Bais; his grandson Drew Michael Atkin; and his niece Sheena Walker.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Sissons; his wife Sandi; his children, Jay Drew Atkin "Tammy" of Gridley, KS, Angela Kristen Atkin "Steve" of Tamarac, FL, Jon Scott "Joy" of Colwich, KS and Tom Scott "Valerie" of Seneca, KS; his grandchildren, Kayla Abril, Alex Atkin, Sabryn Scott, Xavier Atkin, Kinsey Scott, Ashtyn Scott, Cooper Scott and Adisyn Scott; his great grandchildren, Carter and Camden Abril; and his brother Dr. John D. Atkin "Pat" of Yates Center. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
