Walter H. Koontz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter H. Koontz of Winfield, Kansas, born in Stafford, Kansas, who passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Isabel Koontz (Bartlett) and Walter, Jr. Koontz; and his grandparents, Walter, Sr., Nancy Lavina Koontz (Harmony), Addison and Clara Bartlett (Titus).

He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughters, Sara McCoy (Allen), Andrea Kelley (Lance Jeffers) and Allison Minor (Damon); his grandchild Trae Smith (Hensley Swenn); his sons, Tripp, Kaiman Smith, Noah Chee, Taj Smith, Jackson Minor, Easton Minor and Reese Jeffers; his stepgrandsons, Brandon, Brock and Brady McCoy; and his sisters, Cindy Koontz (Debra), Joleen Coupe (John) and Glenda Goodwin (Scooter). He is also survived by four step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Walt's memory to the newly created Medical Loan Closet through the United Methodist Church Memorial Committee (designate Walt's Medical Closet), or the Sedan Public Library, Chautauqua County Animal Shelter or Angels Care Home Health and Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
