He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Goerke and Clara Goerke; his former wife Aleda Mannebach; and his siblings, Reinhardt (Delores), Theodore, Ervin (Sadie), Arnold (Ruth) and Kerry Leahy.

He is survived by: his wife Lettie; his children, Robert (Leah), Rhonda Lombardo (Jack) and Roger (Terry); his grandchildren, John (Christine), Ashley Sharp (Jeb), Katy, Alex, Brandon Lombardo (Rachel) and Brock (Lauren); his sister-in-law Gladys; and his sisters, Evelyn Leahy and Ruth Woolhouse (Donald).
