He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E., Sr. and Merle Dawson (James); his spouse Juna Lee Major; and his siblings, Eddie Dawson and Ruth Pettit.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Dawson (Sheila) of Winfield and Robyn Tapia (Daniel) of Winfield; his sister Frances Brickley; his grandchildren, Michelle Sigg (Tapia), Bryan Tapia, Jeremy Bohrer, Ian MacDonald, Izek MacDonald and Ivy MacDonald; and his great grandchildren, Amalee, Leiland, Hendrix Sigg, Madex Wood, Maxden Vereen and Aylin MacDonald.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Gentiva Hospice. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
