He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Kanitz and Carrie Kanitz (Hodge); his wife Norma D. George; and his siblings, Margaret, Roberta, Melba, Rayda and Howard.
He is survived by: his children, Stan Kanitz of Galva and Sharon Buscher (Stan) of Newton; his grandchildren, Dustan Kanitz (Brooke), Jessica Koehn (Shawn) and Shannon Paulk (Chad); his great grandchildren, Kreighton, Kaizer, Kash and Kager Kanitz; and his grandchildren, Riley, Kemper, Madison, Lincoln, Steele, Crew, Henley Koehn, Eleanor and Brigham Paulk.
A memorial has been established in Ernest's name for the Alzheimer's Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
