He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Houston, Sr. and Helen Olga West (Shorter); and his brothers, Jerry and Lowell West. He is survived by: his wife Shirley West of Winfield; his children, Darrin West (Shelly) of Wichita, Angie Fleisher (Craig) of Suwanee, GA, Todd Slade (Donna) of Winfield, Scott Slade (Lisa) of Round Rock, TX and Jason Slade of Wichita; his sister Carol Reed of Wichita; his grandchildren, Jeffery West, Matthew West, Zach Fleisher, Austin Fleisher and Kieren Fleisher; and his great grandchildren, Paige West, Sawyer West, Addison Sparling and Amelia Fleisher.
A memorial has been established in Al's name for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
