He was predeceased by: his parents, John William and Hildur Caroline Bengston (Ekholm); and his brothers, Chester, Evert and Arvid Bengston.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Bolton; his daughter Pamela; his friend Vernon; his wife Carole V. McNutt (Bundy); his sisters, Gloria Plooster and Carolyn Hanna; his daughter-in-law Kim Bengston; his stepson James McNutt; his children, Pam Thiessen (Darrel) of Inman, Connie Achilles (Scott) of Inman and Kevin Bengston (Mary Sneath) of Inman; his stepdaughter Kathryn Kendrick (Pat) of Hesston; and his brother Willard Bengston (Joyce) of Windom. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were near and dear to his heart, other relatives and a host of friends.
Virgul died at 2:55 on Thursday, June 24 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital, after a hard battle with COVID.
