He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Gates and Emma Gates (Zelfer) of Winchester, Kan.; his brother Michael; his parents-in-law, Donald and Gwynetha Teel; and his siblings-in-law, Clarence Ruhlman, Larry Giller and Nancy Teel.
He is survived by: his son Donald Gates; his wife Donna Teel; his siblings, MaryMargret Ruhlman, Virginia Giller and Leslie Gates; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Gates, Darrell Teel (Patsy), Janet Teel and JoAnn Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Jefferson County Hospice, St. Lawrence Church or St. Lawrence Cemetery.
