He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Schmidt and Ilene Schmidt; and his pet Sally Jane. He is survived by: his wife Delores Heard; his children, Ashley of Wilson and Lee (Kiley Demel) of Wilson; his pet Sophie Jo; his siblings, Robert Schmidt (Julie) of Beloit, Kansas and Cindy Heinze (Steve) of Wilson; and his aunts, Patricia Dinkel and Joann Betts. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
