He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mikkelson and Daisy Mikkelson (Learned); and his stepmother Velva Mikkelson (Childs). He is survived by: his former wife Roberta (Robeson); his children, Leroy, Sheryl and Arlan; his wife Shelby; his son Brent Mikkelson (Erin) of Morrison, CO.; his stepchildren, Deann Binns (LeAnne) of Emporia, Dory Mc Donald (Wil) of Ellsworth, Jay Caley (Kim) of Riley and Deanna Soukup (Rick) of Dorrance, Kansas.; his siblings, Devita Beals of Miltonvale, Wanda Phipps (Bernie) of Branson, MO, Brenda Messina (Larry) of Stuart, FL., Wayne Mikkelson, Larry Mikkelson and Linda Busch; and his great grandchild Aiden Mikkelson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and an abundant amount of friends.

Memorials will go towards a memorial bench, created to honor Mike at Wilson Care and Rehab.
