He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Gieswein and Mary "Kuddes" Gieswein; and his siblings, Floyd, William and Dorothy.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Blanton; his sons, Gary Gieswein (Regina) of Emporia and Greg Gieswein (Dee) of Council Grove; his grandchildren, Eric Gieswein (Renee) of Monroeville, Jessica Lee (Nathan) of Ottawa and Heidi McDermot (Ryon) of Mobile, Alabama; and his great grandchildren, Payton, Madison Lee, Mikaela, Alexandra Gieswein and Avery McDermot.
