He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Higdon and Elsie Higdon (Gregg); his wife Doris; his son-in-law Pat Simmons; and his sister Velma Hart of Ottawa, Kansas.
He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Cook of Williamsburg, Cindy Higdon of Osawatomie and Debbie Brown (Keith) of Howard, Kansas; his siblings-in-law, Joy Mitchell of Cincinnati, Ohio and Joe Suther; and his grandchildren, Tara Yost (Jacob) of Topeka, Heather Newkirk (Philip) of Neodesha, Lucas Simmons (Michelle) of Rose Hill, Megan Higdon of Osawatomie and Deanna White (Richard) of Williamsburg, Kansas. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
