She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Cope and Wanda Lorene Cope (Seamans); and her husband James "Jim" Elwell. She is survived by: her sister Reba Lois Rourke of California; her daughters, Janet Fanning, MD of Norman, OK and Joyce Green (Jim) of Richland, MS; and her granddaughter Jessica Overby (Marion) of Richland, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VictoryInTheValley.org a cancer patient support organization in Wichita or Westside United Methodist Church.
