She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph W. Determan and Helen C. Determan (Schlecht); her husband Dewey Mapes; her son Mark Ray Mapes; and her brothers, Joseph L. Determan and Robert E. Determan.
She is survived by: her children, Marty Mapes (Emelia) of Andover, KS, Michelle Capps (Kevin) of Wichita, KS, Melinda Collins, Matt Mapes (Jane) of Augusta, KS and Mike Mapes (Angi) of Wichita, KS; and her sister Marie Savoie of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anne Catholic Church (2801 S Seneca St, Wichita, KS 67217). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at the Resurrection Cemetery (1640 N Maize Rd, Wichita, KS 67212).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Anne Catholic Church in Helen's name.
