It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gale N. Calkins of Wichita, Kansas, born in Cheney, Kansas, who passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Calkins and Merethyn Calkins (Hodge); his son Howard; his sisters, Phyllis Dodge and Sandra Mullin; and his nephew BJ Mullin.
He is survived by: his brothers, Clinton Calkins of Nebraska and Gary Calkins of Wichita.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Devorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary (201 S Hydraulic Ave, Wichita, KS 67211). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Gale's name to the Retirement Fund for Sisters of Adorers of Blood Christ Convent, 1165 Southwest Blvd., Wichita, KS 67213 or Scout Troop # 735, 3108 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67213 for their fishing and camping adventures.
