Dorothy Shannon Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Shannon (Wichita, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 10, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Earl Smith, Sr. and Elsie Mader Smith; her husband Dwayne Hull Shannon; her son Gary Dwayne Shannon; and her siblings, Francis Earl Smith, Jr. (Mary Lou Smith) of Mobile and Carole S Phillpott.
She is survived by: her children, Ken Shannon (Jan) of Wichita and Karen Shannon (Tamrat Tademe) of Minneapolis; and her grandchildren, David Shannon (Kirsten), Julie Melhorn (John), Besufekad Shannon-Tamrat (Eden Tekle), Selamawit Shannon-Tamrat (Stephen Nuah) and Sisay Shannon-Tamrat. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cozine Life Events Center (11500 E 21st St N, Wichita, KS 67206).
