He is survived by: his parents, Victor Eugene Nelson and Phyllis Nelson (Johnson) of Baldwin City, Kansas; his mother-in-law Hettie Ferguson; his wife Hettie Nelson of Wellington, Kansas; his children, Amy Schaefer (Jared) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Isaac Nelson (Kari Coster) of Wichita, Kansas, Gabe Nelson (Rebecca Betts) of Queensland, Australia, Helen McGee (Luke Parris) of Wichita, Kansas and Victor Robert Nelson of Wichita, Kansas; his stepchildren, Ariel Peeler (Austin) of Wichita, Kansas, Derick Kotchavar of Wellington, Colton Ferguson of Wellington and Kristen Kotchavar of Wellington; and his grandchildren, Linley, Avia, Ellis Schaefer, Lily, Aliya McGee and Lucy Nelson.
