With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernie Albert Simmons (Wellington, Kansas), born in Oxford, Kansas, who passed away on January 31, 2019 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Franklin Simmons and Florence May Simmons (Gardner); and his daughters, Tammy Sue Putter and Debby Lee Simmons. He is survived by: his grandsons, Kelley Putter and Kris Putter; his children-in-law, Larry Putter and Jana Putter; and his sister Freda M. Fry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established with the Avenue of Flags in lieu of flowers.
