He was predeceased by: his parents, Carson Miller and Jean Marietta Miller (Ball); his sister Marjorie Alexander; and his grandson Jesse Brand. He is survived by: his wife Rose Miller of Wellington, KS; his children, John Brand (Amy) of Wellington, KS, Lisa Brand of San Rafael, CA and Mandi Hursh (Ryan) of El Dorado, KS; his brother-in-law Elza Alexander of Wellington, Kansas; his grandchildren, Skylar Brand, Kayma Gilmore (Wesley), Olivia Brand, Ronin Zaim, Ruby Zaim, Clementine Zaim, Maxx Hursh and Grace Hursh; his great grandchildren, Asher and Beverly Gilmore; and his niece Julie Ackerson.

A rosary was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church (210 N B St, Wellington, KS 67152). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
