He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Wheeler and Pearl Wheeler; and his siblings, Rodney Ray Wheeler and Laura Lea Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Reta Wheeler; his children, Greg Wheeler (Marcketta) and Cindy Daniels (Randy) of Wellington, Kansas; his brother Robert Dean Wheeler of Clinton, Oklahoma; and his grandchildren, Josh Wheeler (Cassie), Ben Wheeler, Hazel Krueger (Adam), Pearl Daniels, Ross Bringer (Alicia) and Rodney Bringer.
