He is survived by: his wife Angela Dorrell; his sons, Henry (McKenna) of Kansas City, MO, Ty (Kelci) and Beau; his parents, Cheryl Carter (Schimmel) of Winfield, KS and Sheldon Carter (Cindy) of Belle Plaine, KS; and his sisters, Becky Day (Joel) of Arkansas City, KS and Melissa Smith (Kevin) of Belle Plaine, KS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law and one great nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up an education fund for the Carter children.
