He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Otte and Louise Otte (Zemke); his wife Julia Otte; and his daughter Jane Otte. He is survived by: his siblings, Lee Otte of Hillsboro and Bernice Soderberg of Valrico, Florida..

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Calvary Lutheran Church 1300 North C Street, Wellington, Kansas 67152.
