He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloy Hawes and Dorothy Hawes (Tuttle); his siblings, Bonnie Rusk (Bill), Betty Mayden (Jay) and Robert Hawes; and his nephew Bill Rusk (Butch).
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Hawes; and his children, Terri Rion (Carl), Sherri Tomek (Brian), John Hawes (Kim), Sam Cunningham (Tina), Christi Baxter (Andy), Stefanie Slyter (Steven), Jaclyn Wilkes (Brad) and Jessica Boheim (Mark). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
