She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank "Frenchie" and Grace E. VanKam (Jones); her husband James Thompson; and her siblings, Frank VanKam, Mildred Genser, Margaret Ross and Anna Uber.
She is survived by: her children, Dale Thompson (Kathi) of Cherokee, Michael Thompson (Kelley) of Weir, Mark Thompson (Debbie) of Weir, Kansas and Pam Wydick (Joe) of Weir, Kansas; her siblings, Emile VanKam, Bill VanKam and Vikki Zaccarello; her sister-in-law Shirley Williams; and her son Jared Wydick. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Weir Public Library and or Vie Medical Clinic of Pittsburg.
