We are sad to announce that on October 2, 2022, at the age of 99, Elaine Louise Walter of Wathena, Kansas, born in Troy, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Zeltwanger and Ruby Zeltwanger (Lloyd); and her siblings, Edwin, Arthur Zeltwanger, Helen Henry and Norma Briggs.
She is survived by: her husband Bernard James Walter, Sr.; her children, B. James Walter (Jean) of Reelsville and Patsy Benitz (Dan) of Jefferson, Iowa.; and her siblings, Luella Briggs of St. Joseph, Shirley Hagan of St. Joseph, Darlene Gawatz of Kansas City, Ernest of St. Joseph and William Zeltwanger of St. Joseph. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the First Baptist Church in Wathena or the Doniphan County Meals on Wheels.
