He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. and Loretta; and his siblings, Carolyn Helms and Orville. He is survived by: his brother John Jr. of Washington, KS. He is also survived by eight nieces and two nephews, plus a number of cousins and many other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Washington Public Library, which he frequented in his youth, honoring his life.
