He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Ellis and Clara Dean Chapen (Shepherd); and his brothers, Larry Chapen and Frank Chapen. He is survived by: his wife Susan Wayman; his daughter Tammy Bromley; his grandchildren, Clarissa, Andrew (Sidnee), Gabriel and Evan; his children, Kimberly Chapen Haggerty, Kathleen, Casher Dylan, Caroline and Rebecca Chapen; his grandchildren, Skylar, Oceana and Kyrie; and his children, Tim Chapen (Mandi), Isaiah, Olivia, Amelia and Ryan Chapen. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Kansas City Fisher House for VA families visiting loved ones who are patients at the Kansas City VA Hospital and those may be left with Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, P. O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
