He was predeceased by: his parents, John David Hightower and Dorothy Anita Kuhl Hightower; his wife Leona Marie Reed; his siblings, Maryann Hobbs, Cathy McDole and Del Edward Hightower; and his stepbrother Rick Shrum.
He is survived by: his children, George Hightower (Amber) of Georgia, Paula Robertson (Jamie) of Thayer, Leo Hightower (Megan) of Chanute and Wayne Hightower (Pam) of Ft. Scott, Kansas; his sister Donna Guntharp (Jackie); and his stepbrother Mike Shrum. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
