It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edgar Deines (Wakeeney, Kansas), who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Deines and Pauline Deines (Stieben). He is survived by: his siblings, Raymond, Elmer, LaVerne, John, Carroll, Lillian, LaVera, Wilma, Betty and Charlotte; his wife Rosetta Jane Rohn; his children, Lance Deines (Janine) of Olathe, KS and Jana Abbott (Bryce) of Wichita, KS; his grandchildren, Mallory Arends (Sam), Spencer Deines of Olathe, KS, Logan Abbott (Sydnea) of Wichita, KS and Reid Abbott of Atlanta, GA; his great grandchildren, Elliott of Olathe, KS., Calvin of Olathe, KS. and Martin Arends of Olathe, KS.; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Deines (LaVerne) of WaKeeney, Marvin Rohn of Oakley, Robert Rohn of Wichita and James Rohn (Kathy) of Avon Lake, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schmitt Funeral Home - WaKeeney (336 N 12th St, WaKeeney, KS 67672). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church (338 N 7th St, WaKeeney, KS 67672). A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the WaKeeney Veterans' Cemetery (403 S 13th St, WaKeeney, KS 67672).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made out to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the Trego County Hospital Endowment Foundation for the benefit of Long-Term Care.
