She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Miller and Mary Miller (Seitz); her husband Joseph F. "Joe" Hammerschmidt; her sons, Don and Bob Hammerschmidt; and her brother-in-law Bob Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Hammerschmidt (Mary Anne) of Topeka and Mary Beth Green (Ron) of Lawrence; her daughter-in-law Pat Hammerschmidt of Hays; and her sister Mary Agnes Hayes of Topeka. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
