He was predeceased by: his son Mitchell Scarlett; his siblings, Neola Resinger, Arlene Gier, DeVere Scarlett and Everett Scarlett; and his son-in-law Richard McConnell.
He is survived by: his parents, Harold Scarlett and Grace Scarlett (Ferrell); his children, Karen McConnell of Lecompton, KS and Terry Scarlett (Deborah) of Valley Falls, KS; and his siblings, Anita Graham of Meriden, KS, Leota "Dodie" Bolz of Topeka, KS, Helen Gibson (Hoot) of Rapid City, S. D., Marlin Scarlett of Sabetha, KS, Gary Scarlett (Kay) of Topeka, KS and John Scarlett (Sandy) of Wellsville, KS. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
