He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Russett and Mae Russett (Dreyer); his wife Lucreta; his grandson D. J. Theye; his great grandchild Braiden Smith; and his brothers, Daryle Russett and Conley Russett.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Theye (Densel) of Liberal, Kim Leiker of Hays, David Russett (Patty) of San Antonio and Kari Geerdes (Victor) of Hays; and his brother Fay Russett (Elaine) of Kinsley. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
