He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonifacio Meza and Delores Meza (Lombraña); his former wife Naomi Meza; and his siblings, Bill Meza, Manuel Meza, Clementine Poppe, Debbie Medina, Madeline Hernandez, Janie Meza and Mary Lou Meza.
He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Brent (Oliver); his children, Tracy Meza of Mineral Wells, Larry Meza of Fort Worth and Teresa Ochoa of Ulysses, Kansas; his stepchildren, Kevin Brent of Ulysses, Kenny Brent of Ulysses and Tamara Bartron of Winfield; and his siblings, Joe Meza of Edmond, Oklahoma, Lupe Beohler of Ulysses, Vicki Lewis of Conroe, Linda Zuniga of Borger and Sally Carson of Westmoreland, Kansas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren.
