She was predeceased by: her parents, Isidoro Velarde and Manuela Velarde (Sanchez); her son Jamie Hernandez; and her siblings, Hortencia Velarde, Tomasa Velarde and Ramon Velarde.
She is survived by: her husband Inocente Hernandez; her children, Saul Hernandez of Hobbs, Brenda Hernandez of Ulysses, Kansas and Manuela Bhatti of Ulysses, Kansas; and her siblings, Socorro Velarde, Jesus Velarde, Miguel Velarde, Gilberto Velarde, Abel Velarde, Manuela Velarde, Paula Velarde, Josefina Velarde and Rosario Velarde. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
