It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Smyth Jr. of Ulysses, Kansas, born in Lakin, Kansas, who passed away on November 12, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Harold, Sr. and Pearl Leona Smyth (Walker); his parent-in-law Lyla Jeannine Arthur; his stepmother Netta Smyth; and his brother Victor Smyth.
He is survived by: his sons, Blaine Smyth (Denise) of Grove and Stan Smyth (Leona) of Ulysses; and his grandchildren, Mickey Smyth, Brock Smyth, Kamie Smyth, Matt Pruett, Shelli Miller, Nicole Hallums, Kelin Smyth, Kyle Smyth and Kayla Smyth. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Shelton Memorial Christian Church or Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79 in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
