He is survived by: his wife Sherri Nelson; his father Kenneth Patterson, Jr. of Ulysses; his siblings, Norman Patterson (DiAnna) of Ulysses and Tami Chandler (Gary) of Ness City; his aunts and uncles, Charles R. Spencer (Angela), Bill H. Spencer (Charlene), Jim Spencer (Peggy), Dean Spencer (Luie), Ruth Wilkerson (Butch) and Mary Lou Morgan; and his brothers-in-law, Paul Nelson (Donna) and Larry Nelson (Ellen). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
