It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ethel Smith (Ulysses, Kansas), born in Hennessey, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 17, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl B. Spencer and Viola May Spencer (Thrasher); her husband Henry Raymond Smith (Hank); her sister Gladys Harp; and her son-in-law Jim Hampton.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Hampton of Ulysses, Henry Smith, Jr. of Independence, Kathy Patton (John) of Grove, Kayla Bridwell (Gary) of Independence and Kim Smith of Garden City, Kansas; her sister Patsy Harp of Springdale, Arkansas; and her brother-in-law Phillip Harp of Springdale, Arkansas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Autism Fund Foundation, in honor of her grandson, Urijah Hampton, or donor's choice in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
