He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Thomas Ackley and Lenora Abercrombie; his siblings, Ernest Ackley and Patricia Rackley; and his brother-in-law Mike Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ackley of Ulysses, KS.; his children, Thomas Ackley (Jeannie) of Ulysses, KS. and Amber Johnston; his sister Cindy Owens of Las Vegas, NV.; his brother-in-law Bob Rackley of Sacramento, CA.; and his grandchildren, Anna Ackley, Kailynn Johnston, Taylor and Tyson Ackley. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established to Lee Richardson Zoo, Garden City, KS.
