With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Catherine Prince of Ulysses, Kansas, born in Panther Burn, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 10, 2024 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mose Crate and Annie Shorter-Cail; her husband Ulysses Prince; and her siblings, Barbara "Bobbie" Shorter, Brenda Shorter, Darnell "Booster" Shorter and Barnell "Baycoo" Shorter.

She is survived by: her children, Cathy Shaffer (Willie), Eric Prince (Sheila), Michael Prince, Kimberly Prince-Matthews (Herbert), Christopher Prince (Kim) and Cedric Prince; her grandchildren, DiShon Shaffer, Caleb Shaffer, Erikka Prince, Eric Prince, Malia Prince, Carlos Coleman, Dominique Coleman and Ashli Dye; and her great grandchildren, Kaydence, Andrea, Londyn, Dominique and Kendall.
