With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Nelson (Turon, Kansas), born in Ford, Kansas, who passed away on September 25, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Helen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Helen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Helen leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Imel and Marguerite Imel (Wiedower); her husband Merlin Nelson; and her sister Maxine Holmes. She is survived by: her daughters, Alice Rose Oldham (Marvin) of Hutchinson and Mary Lee Nelson of Wichita, Kansas; her sister Ethel Miller of Newton, Kansas; her grandson Jeffrey Oldham (Darcy) of Hesston, Kansas; her great grandchild Haley Nicole Hernandez (Alexis) of Winnie, Texas; and her great great grandchild Sage Oliver Hernandez of Winnie, Texas..
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Turon Cemetery (50173 NE S R 61, Turon, KS 67583).
Memorials may be made to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in care of Larrison Mortuary.
